Bruiser by Neal Shusterman

     Tennyson can’t believe that his sister, Bronte, is seeing that weird guy, Brewster, more well-known as Bruiser.  Tennyson wants to protect his twin but ends up standing up for Bruiser.  An unusual story with great characters and much to think about.  Another great book by Shusterman!

Cosmic by Frank Cottrell Boyce

Liam Digby has the adventure of a lifetime just because he’s a 12-year-old who looks like an adult.  He practicallly kidnaps his neighbor, Florida, to pose as his daughter, and she becomes quite useful when things get scary.  Liam is big-hearted, smart and very funny.  This would make a great summer read – fast and entertaining.
